What Kept does

Kept is for your own phone. It uses Apple's Screen Time to hold the limits you set, and it tells you plainly what each choice costs.

  • Daily limits for up to 5 apps

    Pick specific apps, not whole categories. Each one gets its own daily limit, from 5 minutes to 3 hours. Phone, Messages, alarms, and anything you don't pick are never blocked.

  • Check-ins

    Opening an app is free until you reach your limit. After each block of use, 10 minutes by default, Kept asks "Keep going?" You can keep going, or be done.

  • A wait before extending

    When the day's minutes are gone, the app is done until midnight. More time means opening Kept and waiting with it open: 60 seconds the first time, then 2 minutes, then 3.

  • Streaks and freezes

    Every day you stay within your limits adds to your streak. A freeze gives one app today's limit again, no wait, and your streak continues. You start with 1 and earn another every 7 days.

  • Protected times

    Set hours when your limited apps are off, like 4 to 8 PM for family time. No extra time and no exceptions, on the days you choose.

  • An emergency pass

    During protected time, open Kept for 5 minutes of an app when you really need it, 3 times a month. It never costs your streak, and it's free on every plan.

  • Everything stays on your phone

    No account, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Apple's Screen Time keeps your app use on your iPhone, and Kept can't see which apps you use.

  • An honest way out

    Turn Kept off in Settings and every block clears at once. Your apps, limits, and protected times are saved for when you turn it back on.
